They have a built in amplifier which delivers 15W RMS per channel with a frequency response between 80Hz to 20kHz. They also come with a 1” titanium dome tweeter for crisp highs and a 6” woven fiber cone with rubber surround. Music performances sounded very clear and crisp with these ceiling speakers – you get crisp highs and trebles with a nice sparkle, together with very detailed midranges and decent bass response. The bass feels solid and has plenty of texture, and does not overwhelm the other midranges and frequencies. Vocal performances sounded very clear and sweet straight out of the MCM Bluetooth ceiling speakers, while instrumental music was reproduced with great fidelity to the original music source. They do provide a certain degree of soundstage and musical separation which is great; you can also crank up the volume with these ceiling speakers and they will produce little to no distortion. We found that the MCM Bluetooth ceiling speakers are very sensitive to the original music recording and will expose the flaws in poor quality audio files, so be sure to feed them good Bluetooth audio quality for optimal sound performance.
The Bluetooth connectivity on the MCM speakers is very good and has a nice range of up to 32 feet – we had no issues connecting to these speakers through our iPhone and android smartphone devices. The downside is that it runs on Bluetooth 2.0 which is a little outdated and they do not support aptX connections for those looking to stream lossless music files. They come as a pair with one active and one passive ceiling speaker – installation is quick and simple by hooking up one 12V power to the active speaker and running the speaker cable to the second passive speaker. If you are looking for a set of Bluetooth ceiling speakers, the MCM 6” two-way speakers are definitely a great choice.
The other way of achieving a full Bluetooth ceiling speaker setup is to pair wired ceiling speakers with a Bluetooth receiver and amplifier. These ceiling speakers do not come with dedicated Bluetooth components and require a separate Bluetooth receiver for Bluetooth music streaming. That being said, because these speakers use a separate power source and amplifier, you have more control over the amount of power fed through to these ceiling speakers and they often have better sound quality than built-in Bluetooth ceiling speakers. The other advantage this setup has over fully integrated Bluetooth ceiling speakers is that if the Bluetooth amplifier is damaged, you only need to change the dedicated Bluetooth amplifier rather than the entire ceiling speaker. It also gives you more options to pair any wired ceiling speaker with a Bluetooth receiver to work just as typical Bluetooth ceiling speakers would. While this setup is arguably more advanced than installing fully integrated Bluetooth ceiling speakers with built-in Bluetooth, it is the recommended setup which will save you time and costs of replacing the entire ceiling speaker in the future.
There are a two steps to note when installing bluetooth ceiling speakers – most importantly you will need ceiling speakers as well as an in-wall bluetooth audio receiver (highly recommended) to power your ceiling speakers. You could also use a wireless dedicated amplifier to achieve the same purpose, although we would recommend in-wall receivers because it looks much cleaner and is convenient to connect.
Step 1: Choose an in-wall Bluetooth audio receiver for your ceiling speakers
Bluetooth audio receivers are necessary to connect your bluetooth ceiling speakers to your bluetooth device or dedicated sound amplifier. If you want to dispense with the trouble of buying a dedicated amplifier, we highly recommend the Pyle Bluetooth in-wall receiver with built in amplifier and in-wall audio control – meaning that you do not need to purchase a separate amplifier to power your ceiling speakers. It is essentially plug and play, which means that all you need to do is connect your ceiling speakers into these receivers and instantly play music streaming from your bluetooth device. At the time of writing, this high quality audio bluetooth receiver is selling out fast, so don’t forget to check it out!
The Pyle Bluetooth in-wall receiver creates a wireless music system in your room and includes the following features:
- Built-in Bluetooth for wireless music streaming – works with almost all Bluetooth devices (iphones, Androids, smartphones, iPads, tablets, etc)
- Features an aux (3.5mm) input for connecting external devices, and an additional USB port for device charging
- Input selection between Bluetooth, stereo or mic source

- Control the volume of your sound and manage multiple inputs to connect to stereo system/ceiling speakers
- Universal standard size gang plate which fits most electrical boxes and provides a clean in-wall installation
Alternatively, if you already have a dedicated sound amplifier (we highly recommend the SONOS Amp if you intend on doing high-end audio), then the Pyle In-wall bluetooth receiver works a charm. It has dual USB device charger and a dedicated Aux input for sound systems. You can mount the system in-wall for instant wireless music streaming with the ability to connect to home theatre. It also comes with quick and easy installation which fits into standard size electrical boxes and can be installed into virtually any wall in your home or office. We really liked these in-wall amplifiers because they look great in-wall and produce very clear sound with no noticeable background static, even if the music playing is stopped. The Pyle audio receivers come highly recommended if you are looking for a cost-effective installation for your Bluetooth ceiling speakers setup.

Step 2: Choose your ceiling speakers
#1 Polk Audio RC80i 2-Way ceiling speakers
The Polk Audio RC80is are one of the best ceiling speakers that you can find now selling at a very good price. When combined with a decent Bluetooth receiver, they work and sound even better than dedicated Bluetooth ceiling speakers. The Polk RC80i utilizes an eight-inch dynamic-balance, mineral filled polymer-composite cone with a rubber surround that outlasts cheaper foam surrounds, as well as a one-inch ring-radiator tweeter with a 15-degree swivel mount. The swivel-mounted tweeter is aimable for direct high frequency control that ensures spacious imaging with good clarity, and well-balanced sound in any listening position, even off-axis listening positions, rather than in just a small sweet spot. They deliver crystal clear and crisp sound that is unmatched by conventional Bluetooth ceiling speakers due to the separate Bluetooth amplifier which provides a dedicated power source and massive peak power.
In terms of audio performance, we found that the RC80is deliver very solid music performance, which are great for home theatre and television. These speakers are perfect for staging due to their adjustable tweeters, so you can direct the sound wherever it sounds ideal. When tested with a SONOS amp, we found that these ceiling speakers produce a very rich sound with good low/mid levels. The bass on these speakers are decent, although not excessive – which is expected of ceiling speakers generally. If you want to fill a large room with sound, we would recommend adding a sub-woofer to go with the system. That said, these ceiling speakers can deliver some serious audio performance when connected to a decent Bluetooth amplifier, and add a little something special to your home theatre.
What we particularly liked about the RC80is are that they are constructed of rust resistant hardware and durable, moisture resistant materials. This means that the RC80i bluetooth ceiling speakers are safe for use in bathrooms, kitchens, saunas, or even under outdoor eaves, and a glass-filled composite baffle that provides a dense, acoustically inert platform for the speaker’s high end components. This unit features strong composite driver baskets that keep moving parts in rigid alignment, a wide-dispersion design for even sound-coverage throughout even large rooms, and a wall-distance toggle switch that flattens frequency response when installation requires placement near a corner or adjacent wall. The RC80i also features a tweeter-level switch that lets you tailor the highs for your room acoustics, enhancing imaging and soundstage when used in a home theater system. They are incredible ceiling speakers to include in your Bluetooth ceiling speakers setup with the Pyle Bluetooth in-wall receiver.
The Verdict? The Polk RC80is are hands down on the best ceiling speakers you can buy that delivers phenomenal sound quality and are highly value for money. They work exactly as Bluetooth ceiling speakers when paired with a Bluetooth receiver and rank highly in terms of convenience and ease of installation. Once installed, the paintable grill and flange allows these ceiling speakers to virtually disappear in the room – they are nice and sleek in the ceiling. The speakers are also very well constructed, making them durable and ideal for home theatre and other outdoor purposes. The sound quality of these speakers are very good for the price when paired with a decent amplifier –we can confirm that you are definitely getting value for what you pay for with these bluetooth ceiling speakers.
#2 Pyle PDIC60 In-Ceiling Speakers
The Pyle PDIC60 6.5-inch speakers are hands down some of the best ceiling speakers in every single aspect. When paired with a decent Bluetooth amplifier, they work exactly as Bluetooth ceiling speakers to deliver wider coverage and lower notes as compared to other “typical” Bluetooth ceiling speakers without a dedicated amplifier. We were very surprised at the sound performance of the Pyle ceiling speakers, reproducing lifelike sound with more spaciousness, detail and depth than expected. This is achieved by the combination of a directable 1-inch titanium dome tweeter, dual 6.5-inch speakers, 4-8 Ohm, 1-inch high temperature voice coils. The mounts of these ceiling speakers flush on walls or ceilings. These ceiling speakers have an overall dimension of 9-Inch Diameter x 2 3/8-Inch Depth, Cut-Out: 7 7/8-Inch x 4 5/8-Inch.
There are a few things that really set these ceiling speakers apart. First, the tweeter can be directed after installation or at any time without removal of the metal cover grill, allowing you to create an ideal soundstage within your room. Second, the sound produced by these ceiling speakers is incredible and sound awesome when paired with surround sound speakers. The bass on these ceiling speakers can go surprisingly low and punchy with any muddy feel – they really deliver sound to the core. Third, the installation is very easy in the sense that all you have to do is connect the wires and secure the speakers to the ceiling. These speakers have very good finish quality and painting them before installation would make them almost disappear into the ceiling. These speakers can go especially loud – loud enough to impress anyone who have yet to hear the performance of these ceiling speakers in an integrated sound system.
We would add that the performance of these ceiling speakers in a flow through type floor plan is really impressive even at high volume and equally impressive when streaming music from the main listening position. Once installed, the finished look is as elegant as it is unobtrusive. You can even paint the speaker grilles to match your décor. When we replaced the existing ceiling speakers with these Pyle speakers, the sound output was simply amazing. The configuration we used to test the system is with two Pyle PDIC60s and a SONOS amp. Do note that because the tweeters are directional they are slightly more noticeable than something that would be described as completely invisible. Nonetheless, the performance from these ceiling speakers is phenomenal for the price.
The Verdict? We really enjoyed the beautiful music and excellent sound that came from these ceiling speakers. When paired with a good Bluetooth receiver, they work and function exactly as Bluetooth ceiling speakers with even better sound quality. We did try out several other speakers and concluded that the Pyles give the best sound performance at par value – meaning that they outperform the rest in terms of price and value for money. These speakers simply deliver sound performance which are quite amazing and something special for music and movie lovers. The depth and quality of the music from these speakers make them a worthy investment. If you are looking for some of the best ceiling speakers with very good audio performance and sound quality at a very good price, we would highly recommend these to go with your home theatre system or Bluetooth amplifier.
#3 MartinLogan ElectroMotion 6.5-inch ceiling speakers
Every once in a while you get surprised with a product that just blows you away. The Martin Logan ElectroMotion ICs were by far one of the best ceiling speakers that we have ever tested. They sound extremely good when combined with a good Bluetooth receiver for a full Bluetooth ceiling speakers configuration.
The installation experience was equally a breeze. The EM-ICs are definitely a well-designed speaker that was very convenient to use. We connected the bluetooth ceiling speakers for a few test runs with various music genres – and we were not disappointed! The sound was crisp and clear, great fidelity and an impressive richness, which we didn’t expect in a ceiling mounted speaker. We used these speakers to support a 7.1 surround setup, and could not be happier with it: great quality, great sound and a great price. One note of advice to keep in mind – use quality components throughout your system, 12ga wire – as your home theatre experience will only be as good as you weakest link.
In addition, these ceiling speakers sound great with good bass for the size. If you are doing whole house audio, these speakers are simply exceptional. Most other speakers mounted in the wall or in the ceiling are very bright and the sound too “forward” – overly bright. These MartinLogan speakers have a sound that is different from their competition. Their sound is very well rounded and is much richer than the other mounted speakers we tested. The sound is not overly bright or fatiguing and very detailed. These ceiling speakers are made to combine with higher end home audio systems to deliver a complete listening experience.
The Verdict? If you are looking for high-end speakers to fit for your home theatre, the ElectroMotion ICs are definitely one of the best ceiling speakers that you can buy and produced by Martin Logan. The Yamaha NS-IC800s is one of the best ceiling speakers for 2-channel sound reproduction or home theatre at low cost. Design wise, these Yamaha ceiling speakers are very practical and effective – they have a noticeable grain-finished acoustic baffle with a spiral pattern which makes the sound disperse naturally. The sound performance that they put out is outstanding – we were quite thrilled at how great these sound. The NS-IC800s added some punch to the bass and carry mid and highs which sounded excellent. The movies sound spectacular and the music really rocks hard and sound sweet on softer recordings. They work very well as Bluetooth ceiling speakers when paired with a good Bluetooth receiver and we were surprised at how good these ceiling speakers sounded with deep punchy bass.
Furthermore, the Yamaha NS-IC800 ceiling speakers are very easy to install – the large mounting clamp with non-slip thread grips ceiling or walls firmly for installation. The slim fringe grille becomes almost invisible after installation, so it won’t conflict with your interior décor. A sealed back cover protects both the speaker unit and crossover from dust and moisture. The magnets also make it easy to attach or remove the grille. We also note that the NS-IC800s use a blue polypropylene mica cone woffer and fluid-cooled soft-dome swivel tweeter in a coaxial design. The tweeter swivels so it can be aimed at whatever position you need for better staging.
The Yamaha NS-IC800s is essentially a 2-way crossover type in-ceiling speaker with a maximum frequency response of 28 kHz. The sound on the Klipsch ceiling speakers are phenomenal and drive up to 50-watts (200-watts peak) of power, which means it can get very loud. The sound is crisp and accurate, and has good emphasis on the mids and lows. It produces more bass than you would expect from a conventional ceiling speaker; we were actually quite surprised at how well these speakers performed, provided that you hook it up with the right amplifier. The sound did not distort at high volumes at all; these speakers made watching movies come to life with cinematic effects heard throughout the house. We were quite enthralled when we tested these.
The CDT-5650-Cs also boosts an impressive array of specifications that are usually found only in high-end speakers. The tweeter is independently adjustable from the woofer to allow the speaker to provide an even more precise localization of sound; it is mated to a swivelling 100-degree tractix horn. We found that the swivelling horn design dramatically increases efficiency by enabling the speaker to produce more output using less energy. Additionally, a horn-loaded tweeter works well in instances where you want to point the sound to a specific location because it has more controlled directivity than a conventional dome tweeter. The speaker also features an impressive 6.5” cera-metallic woofer which can rotate a full 360-degrees and shift 15-degrees in any direction. This flexibility combined with the swivelling tweeter puts you in complete control of where the sound will go.
The Verdict? While the Klipsch CDT-5650C is on the pricier end of the spectrum, they are superb quality bluetooth ceiling speakers built for higher-end audio equipment. At the time of writing, these excellent speakers are selling at a very reasonable price point, which means that you are really getting value for money with each purchase. Furthermore, the sound that these ceiling speakers produce is simply above par, with the added functionality of adjusting your woofer and tweeter to create a vibrant soundstage for home theatre. They work just like any Bluetooth ceiling speakers when connected to a Bluetooth amplifier. All these combined with the meticulous attention to detail makes the Klipsch speakers one of the best ceiling speakers you can find on the market.
#9 Definitive Technology UEWA/Di 8R Round ceiling speakers
The UEWA/Di 8R is one of Definitive Technology’s best ceiling speakers available on the market. The sound on these ceiling speakers are excellent and fills the space with full sound and deep bass. If you are looking for a set of speakers to complete your home theatre setup, these Definitive Technology speakers is a recommended option which at the time of writing are selling at a very good price. The installation of these speakers is simple and they even come with a template for old construction and new construction brackets can be purchased from a number of sources. They are really incredible speakers that fit very well into a Bluetooth ceiling speakers setup when paired with a decent Bluetooth amplifier.
What we particularly liked about the in-ceiling DI 8R speakers is their ability to blend into the home surroundings due to its small diameters, hidden flange design, and low profile micro-perf grilles. This unique design renders them practically invisible from view. They are as easy to install as traditional flanged flush-mount speakers, and don’t require custom sheetrock/spackle skills to install. The DI 8R grille is a mere 9-3/4 inches (24.8 centimeters) in diameter, noticeably smaller than any competing 8-inch in-ceiling speaker. It also has pivoting pure aluminium dome tweeters which allow you to adjust where you require your sound output to be – allowing you to create a home theatre soundstage with a 5.1 or 7.1 system.
As compared to Klipsch or JBL, several of our testers had differing opinions as to whether the Definitive Technology speakers sounded better. Although these ceiling speakers have very good audio quality, we should add that the UEWA/Di 8R in particular had more fuller and richer bass response due to its 8 inch size and clear trebles. The speaker is quite loud (but clear) even at low volumes. Apart from sounding fantastic, these ceiling speakers also look great and we loved the magnetic cover design. The easy mounting flexibility is also an added plus; no prior experience would be required as they provide detailed instructions on how to mount these speakers. They work just like Bluetooth ceiling speakers when paired with a Bluetooth receiver with plenty of power to go around.
The Verdict? Overall, the Definitive Technology UEWA/Di 8R makes it to this list largely because it’s highly value for money and sounds almost as good, if not better, than its more expensive counterparts. It also features a flangeless design and micro-perf grille to minimize visibility with pivoting pure aluminium dome tweeters. The key highlight, however, is that these are one of the best ceiling speakers produced by the Definitive Technology brand which is now going at a very good price at the time of writing, making it highly value for money. It’s an amazing speaker to include in your Bluetooth ceiling speakers setup and we highly recommend them.
#10 Yamaha NS-IW480CWH 3-way ceiling speakers
The Yamaha NS-IW480CWHs are very well-constructed, inexpensive, and fine-sounding ceiling speakers. These speakers are priced just right for the homeowner looking to expand or start a new built-in system. They come with an adjustable directional tweeter and deliver high-quality natural sound to enhance the home theatre experience. They are best used as surround sound speakers to complement the mains, and they sound awesome when connected to the right sound amplifier. The construction quality of these Yamaha speakers is top-notch and the installation was very easy. For those looking for a low-cost, high quality speaker, the NS-IW480CWHs are an amazing set of ceiling speakers from Yamaha to include in your Bluetooth ceiling speakers setup with a Bluetooth receiver.
Each IW-280 speaker weighs 3.3 pounds and measures 10-9/32” in diameter and 5-1/32” deep. The 6.5” woofer is tilted at 12 degrees from vertical and the tweeters swivel somewhat for directional sound. These speakers come with 8” polypropylene mica cone woofers and dual 3/4” dome tweeter with SoundMax technology to produce natural and rich sound.
The great thing about these speakers is that the woofer is angled and positioned within its casing so the woofer speaker can be pointed in the direction of the listener. It is important to point the woofer by turning the entire casing to the desired position so it is angled towards the listener, and then move the individual tweeters to point to the listener as well. These ceiling speakers also come with an easy card board template for cutting out the hole, so place it on the ceiling and use a pencil to draw the cutting line and cut the ceiling for an 8 inch diameter hole. The speakers are equipped with a nice white grill to cover the speaker and cover all the edges of the circle. The cosmetic grill that covers the speaker can snap into place without any tools or need of the included adhesive pad.
Ceiling speakers like these Yamahas are very nice for surround sound because they essentially disappear into your ceiling. We were very impressed with the sound quality and the bass output, even without a subwoofer connected to the system. The connectors for the wires are a very high-quality spring-loaded design, which helps to reduce static interference. When paired with a decent Bluetooth amplifier, the quality of the sound was rich, crisp and accurate; listening to these speakers, movies sounded like they came to life and you can hear things which you never thought were there in the movie – they are a very good compliment to the overall home theatre system. It’s really hard to find fault with these ceiling speakers and you simply cannot go wrong with these. They sound and function exactly as Bluetooth ceiling speakers in our setup without any dips in sound performance while connected to the Bluetooth amplifier.
The Verdict? In our view, these Yamaha speakers strike the right balance of cost, quality and performance. They are essentially mid-end speakers which are cost effective and very easy to install, and deliver some outstanding music performance for the price. With a 120-Watt maximum input capacity and swivel tweeter for wide dispersion, these are excellent ceiling speakers you can find in terms of practical design and cost to fit into your Bluetooth ceiling speakers setup with a Bluetooth amplifier. If you are on a budget and looking for high quality ceiling speakers, these Yamahas are your best bet.
