The Adaptive EQ feature adjusts the low and mid frequencies based on the earbuds’ fit in your ear and provides consistent sound performance regardless of volume output. The AirPods Pro 2 provide a rich and powerful sound with improved bass response and detailed presentation across various music genres, and are the more advanced earbuds when compared with the Beats Fit Pro.

Sound Performance
In terms of sound performance, the Beats Fit Pro deliver classic Beats sound signature with really intense bass performance, boosted highs, and bass-leaning midrange that sounds rather warm. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is effective particularly in eliminating low-frequency noise and it helps you get a nice listening experience while outside noises such as the sound of an electric fan. These earbuds are powered by the Apple H1 chip, enabling features like Spatial Audio with head tracking, Adaptive EQ, hands-free Siri, and seamless iOS pairing. The Fit Pro earphones provide deep bass and crisp highs with decent noise cancellation performance and they also support Apple’s H1 chip for better quality streaming performance. We have to say that the Beats Fit Pro are rather bass-heavy earbuds and they deliver superb sound performance especially if you enjoy listening to EDM, rock and hip-hop music genres.
In comparison, the AirPods Pro 2 provides nearly the same sound signature as the Beats Fit Pro but with more personalized spatial audio that enhances immersive audio playback. This feature including the adaptive transparency mode and effective noise canceling, provides a really nice listening experience that you can customize to suit your individual listening preferences. The AirPods Pro 2 also supports 48 kHz cinema-quality audio via Apple SharePlay, although they do not support lossless wireless audio due to Bluetooth limitations. Compared with the previous AirPods Pro, the AirPods Pro 2 provides better comfort and fit and feel lightweight in the ears (each earbud only weighs a mere 5.3 grams). These earbuds are capable of delivering very deep bass performance with crystal clear highs, detailed midranges and smooth vocals. They sound particularly engaging to listen to especially when watching movies over Netflix with these earbuds due to their spatial audio.
Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 are designed provide an immersive listening experience with features like Adaptive Transparency to reduce sudden loud noises in Transparency Mode (such as the sound of a car horn if you are jogging by the road). This transparency mode is significantly improved over the Beats Fit Pro’s transparency mode as it is fully adaptive. The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.3 technology and have a battery life of up to 6 hours on a single charge with Active Noise Cancellation enabled, extending to a total of 30 hours with the charging case. We also liked the fact that these earbuds are sweat and water-resistant (IPX4) and feature touch controls for easy operation, including adjusting volume, answering calls, and activating Siri for voice assistance.
Noise Cancellation Comparison
In terms of noise cancellation, the AirPods Pro 2 outperforms the Beats Fit Pro in sound quality and noise cancellation capabilities. The AirPods Pro 2 provide superior active noise cancellation (ANC) compared with the Beats Fit Pro, and are capable of cancelling out high-frequency sounds in addition to low-end frequency humming noises (such as cars, fans, and the sounds of people talking). We did find that the Airpods Pro 2 earbuds have much better noise cancellation especially when it comes to cancelling out the higher frequency ranges – the Beats Fit Pro are less effective and they depend somewhat less on active noise cancellation than on having an actual tight seal in your ear to block out noises. It’s quite clear that the AirPods Pro 2 definitely have much better noise cancellation as compared to the Beats Fit Pro and can even reduce the sounds of conversational speech effectively.
Design and Specs
The AirPods Pro 2 have a more premium and sleek design and come with a compact case that feels more polished and includes extra features such as a lanyard loop and a built-in speaker to emit a tone to help you find it. Both earbuds and cases are rated IPX4 for resistance to sweat and water splashing, making them suitable for use during workouts or in humid conditions. The Beats Fit Pro, on the other hand, are available in black, grey, white, and purple finishes, offering a more eye-catching design compared to the AirPods Pro 2, which are only available in white. The Beats Fit Pro also feature flexible wingtips that tuck into your ear to keep the earbuds secure, making them a suitable option for users seeking a stable fit during physical activity. The battery life of the Beats Fit Pro is above average, providing up to 7 hours of listening time with Adaptive EQ enabled and an additional 21 to 23 hours in the charging case.
In terms of weight, the AirPods Pro 2 are slightly lighter than the Beats Fit Pro, weighing 5.4 grams per earbud compared to 5.6 grams for the Beats. Both earbuds offer a secure fit, with the Beats Fit Pro using a combination of ear tips and a wing for stability, while the AirPods Pro 2 have improved in fit for everyday use.
Having said that, one huge issue that we had with the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds is that they easily slip out of the ears if you are doing intense workouts or exercises – this is due to the fact that the earbuds are made from silicone and there isn’t much to secure the earbuds into your ears while running, which makes them slightly protruding and easy to fall off. The Beats Fit Pro, by contrast, fits extremely snug and comfy inside the ears and are secured by wing tips which keep them completely in place. You can undergo intensive workouts and exercises without having to worry about these earbuds falling off, which is definitely a significant advantage over the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds.
The Verdict?
Overall, we liked the sound performance and the advanced features such as improved spatial audio and the Apple H2 chip that the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds have. These earbuds are designed to deliver really nice sound performance with crystal clear highs, detailed midranges and deep bass that feels tight and punchy without muddying into the midrange frequencies. The spatial audio also makes the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds particularly enjoyable to listen while watching movies as you can enjoy the 3D sound effects with great precision.
Having said that, the Beats Fit Pro has one major advantage over the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds and that is it provides much better comfort and a secure fit inside the ears especially during workouts or prolonged exercises; these earbuds stay securely inside your ears and do not come off easily even after intensive gym workouts, making them great for listening to music while doing rigorous outdoor activities. The AirPods Pro 2 earbuds, by contrast, can easily fall off the earbuds after intense workouts due to the silicone design of the earbuds which does not provide much grip.
If you intend to listen to music in a quiet place without much intense workouts (such as the library or in the office), the AirPods Pro 2 will definitely do a good job of blocking ambient background noises and providing superb sound performance. Otherwise, the Beats Fit Pro earbuds are definitely the ones you should get as they stay more firmly inside your ears and come with secure wing tips for rigorous exercises.
