This speaker stands over 2 feet high and also puts on a dazzling lightshow every time you use it. With that said, this is not a really portable speaker and needs to be powered by a standard 110V outlet.

Compared with other party speakers, the Sony XB72 actually sounds really good. It features two 6-3/8” woofers and a couple of 2” tweeters that deliver crisp highs and deep low-end bass. Although this speaker does not have any midrange drivers, the crossover that Sony uses creates a full-range sound response without any midrange gaps. The sound quality is bold, full and loud and can easily fill up outdoor spaces with great sound.

One thing that we liked about the Sony XB72 is that you can push it to maximum volume and they won’t distort. The sound remains clear and consistent.

Apart from the sound performance, the XB72 also delivers a really impressive lightshow with a wide array of rainbow colors which illuminates the entire speaker. It adds to the “party effect” when playing music on this speaker with flashing strobes.

With that said, the XB72 does not come with any portable battery and most be powered by a 110V outlet, which is probably the only downside to this speaker.

Overall, the XB72 is one of the loudest party speakers you can find, and if you don’t mind using an AC power outlet, is a great choice for indoor and outdoor parties.

The bass on this speaker sets it apart from other Bluetooth party speakers we’ve tested. The speaker is actually capable of playing sub-frequencies at audible levels as low as 20 Hz, and it delivers nice punchy beats. The soundstage, imaging and clarity with the DOSS is respectable.

Built for portability, the SoundBox also comes equipped with a 2200mAh rechargeable battery that provides up to 10 hours of playtime at 50% volume. It’s compatible with all Bluetooth-enabled devices, and also supports aux-in, TF card, and echo dot devices.

The only downside to the DOSS SoundBox XL is probably the lack of waterproofing – which makes this only ideal for indoor parties and events.

With that said, the DOSS SoundBox XL is a really value for money party Bluetooth speaker that delivers loud volume and bass – and is definitely worth checking out.
