One of the things we liked about the Xtreme 3 is that the highs and midranges are still crystal clear – there is a level of sparkle in the vocals which you rarely hear from a boombox speaker. This level of clarity in the highs and low-end punch gives the JBL Xtreme 3 a nice V-shaped sound, making them bass-heavy but crystal clear on the highs at the same time. You can also push the volume on the JBL Xtreme 3 to maximum and it will produce very little distortion while maintaining crystal clear vocals and details in the music. The bass remains consistent and does not taper off at high volume levels or sound muddy, which makes this speaker great for deep punchy beats.

The JBL Xtreme 3 comes with a few newly added features including more tweeters for clearer highs and an audio jack for non-Bluetooth audio sources. We also liked the PartyBoost feature which allow you to sync up two Xtreme 3 speakers for a wider stereo effect, although we found that the stereo sound is not really clear if both speakers are located some distance away from each other. The JBL Xtreme 3 is incredibly durable and portable, and is IP67 waterproof which allows you to take it to the pool or by the beach. Although the JBL PartyBox is not as loud as the latest JBL Boombox 3, is still delivers formidable audio performance with a massive 100W of output power. The bass on this PartyBox goes very deep and punchy, and the speaker unit can deliver a lot of volume output with well-balanced bass performance that does not sound muddy. We played a couple of soundtracks through the JBL PartyBox speaker including EDM and rock music and they sounded really punchy with very clear highs. You can hear the artists voice with crystal clear clarity and the highs and midranges are well-balanced without any distortion at higher volume levels. You can really push up the volume on this speaker and is it powerful enough for a medium sized party – the only downside to the JBL PartyBox On-The-Go speaker is that the battery only lasts 6 hours (or around 4.5 hours at 80% volume).

Apart from the JBL PartyBox On-The-Go speaker’s portability, the speaker is intuitively designed and comes with volume, bass and treble knobs at the top of the speaker which allow you to adjust the sound quality quickly. This speaker has a really cool light feature which you can customize to get the nicest visual effects for parties, and the lightshow syncs to the beat of the music which is really cool. You can also use this speaker as a karaoke speaker and connect a microphone to it – the speaker can double as a portable PA sound system. We also liked the JBL True wireless stereo mode which allows you to pair 2 JBL PartyBox On-The-Go speakers together to create a wider listening field, making it convenient if you want to stream music for a much larger party. Having said that, the only downside to this speaker is that the battery life only lasts 6 hours which is below average for a JBL PartyBox.

Overall, the JBL Boombox 3 looks much sleeker and durable as compared to the JBL Boombox 2, and we really liked the upgraded design with the built-in dedicated woofer.

We were simply blown away by the sound performance of the JBL Boombox 3. This speaker can deliver monstrous sound performance which gets very loud – at 75% volume, this speaker is loud enough to shake your house and rattle your windows. You can bring this speaker outdoors and blast music for outdoor parties; the bass on this speaker is extremely deep and punchy, and you get really solid lows while playing EDM music which makes this speaker really fun to listen to. Having said that, we did find that the JBL Boombox 3 sounds much better when plugged into the AC power outlet – if you run the speaker while on battery mode, the lower bass notes roll off at higher volume levels and sound less punchy. The speaker delivers consistently clear sound performance with crisp highs and detailed midranges, and sounds fantastic at 50% volume level. You can also push the volume on the Boombox 3 to maximum while hearing very little distortion, provided that you plug in this speaker to AC power.

As with all JBL Boombox speakers, the JBL Boombox 3 also comes with the signature PartyBoost function which allows you to pair two JBL PartyBoost speakers together for bigger stereo sound performance. We played a couple of music soundtracks from country folk and rock music genres and the sound quality was incredibly clear without any distortion. The bass and midranges are well-defined and do not bleed into each other, allowing the sound to feel really well-balanced and clear. At full volume level, the Charge 5 still delivers really clean sound performance with powerful bass that does not sound distorted, which is a really incredible feat considering the size of this speaker.

The Charge 5 speaker is portable but slightly heavy – you can feel that this speaker is made of quality internal components just by feeling the weight of the speaker. We liked the JBL Connect feature which allows you to connect other JBL speakers to get a much wider listening field and soundstage. The speaker also has a portable design and comes with a built-in battery with 20 hours of playtime, allowing you to play this speaker through the night at around 50-60% volume. The JBL Flip 6 has a warmer sound signature with an emphasis on the lows and mid-bass, and it performs really well when you play bass-leaning music genres on this speaker with solid bass output. You can also push up the volume on the JBL Flip 6 and get really loud sound with minimal distortion – the bass remains tight and punchy and the highs do not sound harsh at max volume.

This PA speaker system can get so loud that it can fill up an entire hall or outdoor field with rich and filling sound performance. The sound quality on these speakers is crystal clear even while streaming music from wireless Bluetooth; we did not experience any lag or dips in sound performance while playing music from our smartphone device. The EON715 also supports true wireless stereo setup which allows you to create a true stereo image by configurating the left and right speakers – the soundstage is very wide and you can hear the separation between both channels with pristine detail. The EON715 is extremely loud and even louder than the JBL PartyBox 1000 – the bass goes pretty deep and feels tight without any muddiness.

We played a couple of music genres through these speakers including country folk and jazz and the sound was very clear particularly in the treble ranges. Vocals sounded bright and crisp, and the midrange felt preset and very satisfying to listen to. The EON715 PA speaker also allows you to adjust the EQ settings on the smartphone app to fine tune the sound output, which is a really convenient feature especially if you are streaming music via Bluetooth.

We liked the fact that the JBL Professional EON715 PA speaker comes with speaker stands which are suitable for carrying speakers weighing up to 120 lbs. The speaker stands also come with 1.375” mounts and 1.5” adapters for you to properly mount these speakers for a concert or event.
